Marple Conservative Club foundation stones
Description
Two colour photographs, one of each of the two foundation stones which were laid at Marple Conservative Club on Church Lane, also known as Shepley Hall. The wording on both had been badly eroded by 2023 and the Isherwood stone was covered with ivy.

On the Marple Local History Society website is recorded that "In Marple a group of local worthies gathered at the Jolly Sailor to form the Marple Conservative Association. Amongst those present were John Isherwood of Marple Hall, J Hudson of Brabyns Hall, Joel Wainwright and Jesse and Wright Tymm."
