Two newspaper articles from The Times 1928 reporting on the death of Alfred Edmund Cunliffe of Mellor, aged 61, who died at Southport during the 100 miles race organised there by Southport Motor Club. His daughter, who was driving, fractured her right arm in the accident. Malcomlm Campbell also took part in the event.
