North Cheshire Herald, 'Marple Hall treasures sold'. This article lists many of the items sold with the prices paid for each. Among these the more expensive are Hepplewhite chairs sold for £242 10s 0d, an antique turned wood wassail bowl for £84, six plain trencher salts, 1720, £414 7s 6d, hammered and chased tazza, 1661, £316 17s 6d and early Gobelins tapestry £630. Full suits of armour fetched between 15 and 56 guineas. Dealers attended from all parts of the country.
