Several newspaper cuttings from various publications regarding Park & Paterson Metal Works, Cross Lane, Marple, from its heyday to its closure in 2007.
1972 : A century of ingot making by Patersons - James Paterson started manufacturing ingots in Glasgow in 1872
1978 : Jobs going at Park and Paterson and nobody wants them
1990 : Our fumes aren't killers. Two weeks earlier dozens of dead birds were found in Hibbert and Church Lane areas but the general manager reported a clean bill of health following a visit from pollution inspectors
1991 : Factory fire caused by dust in an extraction plant
1998 : Buyout will keep firm in the family
2004 Jan : Park and Paterson merge with a rival firm, Bernhard Metals of Derby
2004 Jul : Park & Paterson went into administration and as Bernhard Metals remained a separate company after the merger, they were unaffected
2007 Apr : 97 homes planned for Park and Paterson site
2007 May : Teenager's 'miracle' escape after 35ft fall at the redundant Park and Paterson site.
