Title
Research Material Marple Hall : Elsdon : 2023
Description
Photocopies of research papers, collated by Bernard Elsdon, which were recently donated to Marple Library January 2023. In 1954, Mr Elsdon, an Estates and Wayleaves Officer for the North Western Electricity Board negotiated with the owners of Marple Hall for power cables to cross their land. Having contact with the family, then living at Wybersley Hall, resulted in him researching the history of Marple Hall, collecting ‘memories’ from people who lived in the area, copying photographs, maps etc. He intended to write a book but this never happened. See typed index for material stored on USB stick in the Audio Visual Collection.
