Description
Two original copies of 'Programme for Wounded Soldiers Sports' held in Brabyns Park on Saturday 7th September 1918 approved by the Red Cross with the proceeds devoted to Our Day movement. Also photocopy of original programme.
Events included potato race, egg and spoon race, needle threading race, mixed shoe race, Mr Dawber's concert, sack race and blindfold race. Names are given of the Sports Committee, the Stewards, donors of prizes and those involved in the musical entertainment. Each of three pages is filled with details of local tradesmen in 1918.
Our Day was held on 21 October 1915 and was a day set apart by the Red Cross throughout the country to raise funds for the use of the wounded at the various fronts.
