Two photocopies of handwritten documents relating to the building of a new bridge at Marple Bridge 1800. From Chester City Record Office.
1. Listing the townships in which bridges were to be built, including Marple where it was to be built by Cheshire and Derbyshire
2. The agreement made with Samuel and William Lister, masons of York on 21st June 1800 to build “a good and substantial bridge across the River Goyt upon or near the same ground or place where the old bridge now stands or lately stood - - - and finish the said bridge on or before 25th day November now next”.
