Original newspaper article with photograph from The Herald dated 15.10.1910. regarding donation of Recreation Ground and fountain by Mr Walter Bright Hodgkinson with details of opening ceremony and presentations.
Colourand black and white photos of the Fountain and inscriptions:-
(a) The land for this recreation ground was presented by W. B. Hodgkinson Esq, J.P.
(b) The cost of erecting the buildings and laying out the children's corner was born by Thomas Carver, Esq, late of Marple.
(c) Colour photo of Commemoration Medal given to children dated 1910.
The two black & white photographs mounted on card state these photographs were taken in 1997.
Two original Commerative medals (one bronze, one aluminum) are in the artefacts box file 1 : donated by Steve Till : 2019.
