Original and photocopy of newspaper cutting (undated but in 1930s) on the "Extensions to Crippled Children's Home, day of memories at Marple". The article reports on the opening of the new L shaped wing on the south front of the existing home, connected by the new adminstrative block to the old building, forming an open paved court. These extensions were planned to be a little more than half of a fuller scheme to be completed at some future date. The opening was attended by about 500 people with local dignitaries including Robert Ollerenshaw presiding, Councillors from Marple UDC, Mr J Howson Ray who laid the foundation stone and addressed by Sir Francis Joseph.
